IMD issued ‘Orange Alert’ in Uttarakhand
On thursday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh for the next 3–4 days due to heavy downpours. Over the past 24 hours, nine people died in Uttarakhand. Heavy rain lashed Gaurikund.
Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami gives directions to all district magistrates to stay on alert. He was told to set administration arrangements in advance to deal with natural calamities by talking on the phone with DMs of Rudraprayag, Pauri, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar.

The shack of Gaurikund Village was hit by the landslide from the top of the hill while four family members were buried in debris, told by Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar (Rudraprayag District Disaster Management).
Kotdwar recorded 269 mm of rainfall and Yamkeshwar recorded 89 mm of rainfall, it said.
This downpours of heavy rain of natural calamity makes the life of those people difficult to do on a daily basis of work. Many people also lose their homes and families.
