An official reported on Wednesday that a power transformer explosion on the banks of the Alaknanda river in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district resulted in at least fifteen fatalities and multiple injuries. According to the official, the dead included three police inspectors and three house guards.
At the local hospital, the injured have been admitted.
Five home guards and a police sub-inspector are among the approximately 15 fatalities. There is a probe going on. Prima Facie shows that there was current on the railing, and further information will be revealed by the investigation, according to Additional Director General of Police for Uttarakhand V Murugesan, who spoke to ANI.
The SDRF, police, and district administration have arrived, according to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The wounded are being flown by helicopter to AIIMS Rishikesh and are being sent to higher centers. An official investigation on the incident has been mandated by Dhami.
