Many people cover up hair loss with hair extensions or use them to experiment with different looks. But what if your attempt to give your hair a voluminous, stylish look fails? Unbelievably, a woman in the United Kingdom is currently going through this ordeal. Shauna Higgins, 24, chose to experiment with extensions after suffering from hair loss brought on by medication. She lost more of her hair as a result of the extensions’ harm to her scalp, though.
Shauna posted on her Facebook page about her experience getting hair extensions at a Dundee hairdresser. Her caption read, “My hair dreams into a hair disaster.” She said, “Mandy, their self-described ‘extension specialist,’ promised incredible results. But I must say, it was a total nightmare! Mandy said that the blonde hair in the images was “a full head of extensions.” She stated that she had to return to the salon numerous times following this.
Shauna claimed that all she received for her about $1,000 (Rs 82,077.50) investment in hair extensions was “constant problems and bald patches!” She was “completely bald” five weeks later.
Many people who use hair extensions, whether frequently or infrequently, find this incidence to be alarming.
If you use hair extensions, here are some tips to save from baldness:
- You must not neglect your natural hair despite the fact that your extensions will hide damage and give you wonderful hair days. To keep your hair strong and moisturized, use a consistent hair care routine that includes conditioners and oils.
- Keep your scalp clean at all times, and wash your hair frequently.
- Your hair will droop, be damaged, and break if you use heavy hair extensions.
- They can weaken the roots, resulting in severe hair loss and baldness.
- The removal of these extensions must be done carefully because your scalp depends on it. The extensions and your natural locks will both be harmed if you pull and tug on the extensions.
- It is well recognized that too much heat is bad for your hair. Extensions should be styled before being used. If not, it could damage your natural hair. Continuously using the product can weaken your hair as well.
