Scam 2003 a New Financial Thriller Series:

Scam 1992, a 2020 financial thriller series by Hansal Mehta, made waves all across the world. The lead in Harshad Mehta, Pratik Gandhi, became well-known. The release date of SonyLIV’s sequel, Scam 2003, was revealed on its third anniversary. The new show’s teaser, which is based on Abdul Karim Telgi, has just been released by the creators.

Scaling up

Another Mumbai-based film is Scam 2003. The narration in the teaser, however, claims that the swindle in that year was so massive that “mathematicians ke desh mein zero kum padh gaye” (there was a shortage of zeroes for mathematicians). The 2003 Scam, which involved 30,000 crore, is then revealed in the teaser.

The New Scamster

Only the back or side of the new con artist Abdul Karim Telgi are displayed. The teaser never shows us his face. However, he can be heard speaking phrases like “Mujhe paise kamane ka koi shauq nahi.” “I don’t need to make money,” the proverb goes. “Kyunki paisa kamaya nahi, banaya jata hai.” Since wealth is created, not earned; and “Life mein aage badhna hai toh daring toh karna padega na darling” (If you want to advance in life, you must be more courageous). The last conversation may make you think of the well-known phrase from Scam 1992, “Risk hai toh ishq hai” (If there’s risk, there’s love).

The remaining portion of the teaser features a collage of activities against the arresting backdrop of Scam 1992.

About Telgi

Telgi was a well-known forger who produced counterfeit stamp paper. The narrative was derived from the book Reporter Ki Diary by journalist Sanjay Singh.
