Rahul Gandhi On Renaming Nehru Memorial
Rahul Gandhi, a prominent member of the Congress, lashed out on Thursday at the government for renaming the Nehru Museum as the Prime Minister’s Museum, claiming that Nehru is remembered for more than just his name. One day after a verbal spat between the BJP and Congress on the subject, Rahul Gandhi made his comment. The BJP said that Congress was only grieving and denied that the “N to P” alteration indicated BJP pettiness.

On his journey to Ladakh, Rahul Gandhi declared, “Nehru Ji ki pehchaan unke karam hai, unka naam nahi,” at the airport.
Beginning on August 14, the Prime Minister’s Museum and Library Society will formally replace the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library.
According to a statement made by the Culture Ministry, the Museum is a continuous amalgam that starts with the rebuilt and upgraded Nehru Museum building, which is “now completely updated with technologically advanced displays on the life and contribution of Jawaharlal Nehru”.
The museum, which is housed in a brand-new structure, continues by describing how our Prime Ministers guided the country through a variety of difficulties and made sure that it advanced overall. It democratizes the institutional memory by recognizing all Prime Ministers, according to the press release.
‘Destroying Nehru and the Nehruvian legacy’
A number of opposition politicians strongly objected to the act. On Wednesday, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh declared on Twitter that Mr. Modi “possesses a big bundle of worries, complexes, and insecurities, especially when it comes to our first and longest-serving Prime Minister. His one-sided aim has been to reject, misrepresent, defame, and undermine Nehru and the Nehruvian legacy.
N has been deleted, and P has been substituted, by Modi. Actually, that P stands for petty and a grudge.
Congressman Shashi Tharoor commented, “You could have kept calling it the Nehru Memorial Prime Ministers Museum and Library.”
The BJP, on the other hand, claimed that with the change, attention is now on all prime ministers moving away from Nehru. No other PM received any room before.
