Pink Eye Cases in India:
In the last several days, pink eye cases have increased dramatically in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The flu has also infected visitors to Agra who came to view the Taj Mahal.
More than 40% of patients who had the eye flu were treated by the ophthalmology department of the SN Medical College and district hospital in Agra.
According to physicians working at the SN Medical College’s Ophthalmology Department, eye infections spread quickly during the rainy season.
Dr. Anita Sharma, the director of the Agra District Hospital, reported a sharp increase in the number of cases of eye flu. The majority of patients, according to her, had painful, swollen red eyes.
Schools in Agra have meantime encouraged parents to keep their kids home from school if they have eye flu.
According to Ramanand, the city in-charge for CBSE, any child with eye flu could spread it to other students. As a result, parents have been asked verbally and in writing to keep their children home from school until the disease has subsided.
According to Vishal Sharma, vice-chairman of the Hindustani Biradari, the health authorities should prioritize holding eye checkup camps in order to give eye flu medication.
