Jaipur-Mumbai Train Case:
An assistant sub-inspector was one of four people shot dead by a member of the Maharashtra Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Monday morning while riding in a moving train close to the Palghar station.
In the fire incident on board the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Superfast Express (12956), four casualties, including the ASI, have been reported. Arrested is the alleged offender. The Railway Protection Force has informed DCP North GRP, it has been reported.
According to officials, the accused, RPF Constable Chetan Singh, opened fire with his official automatic weapon at around five in the morning, killing three passengers on the train traveling from Jaipur to Mumbai as well as another RPF comrade, his duty supervisor ASI Tika Ram Meena, and another RPF member. His weapon was taken into custody as well.
The constable shot and killed three passengers on another bogie after shooting his superior, according to reports from news agency, which cited officials.
According to the chief public relations officer of the railways, the RPF policeman pulled the chain and exited the train close to Dahisar Station before opening fire inside the moving train after it had passed Palghar Station. With the assistance of the Government Railway Police and RPF personnel, the police managed to apprehend him near Mira Road.
Coach B5 was the location of the incident.
