After over 20 hours, the alternate Mandi-Kullu route via Katola that was shut owing to landslides has been unblocked, and small cars are now being redirected, the Mandi administration said.
Around midnight, there was a massive landslip at 6 Mile and 7 Mile close to Pandoh, and enormous boulders fell into the road. The boulders must be removed with heavy equipment, according to Additional Superintendent of Police (Mandi) Sagar Chander. He further said that traffic was suspended when landslides struck the area on Sunday at approximately 6 o’clock. By midnight, most of the rubble had been removed, but around 1.30 am on Monday, there was another significant landslip.
