Chandrayaan-3 live update: Orbit raising is performed successfully, says ISRO

The scientist of Indian Space Research Organization successfully completed the second orbit raising manoeuvre of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft.
The spacecraft is 41603 × 226 km in orbit now. That means, the Chandrayaan-3 is moving in the orbit of earth which is 226 km close and 41603 km far from the earth.

They plan to set the next firing on 17 July during 2-3pm to extend the orbit. After that the spacecraft fired 2 times more to move on the moon’s orbit during the midnight on 31 July and 1 August.
The moon’s gravity will capture the spacecraft on 5 August and it will land on 23 August on the moon.

Lander and rover will land on the South pole of the moon for 14 days to collect information while the propulsion module will be moving in the moon’s orbit to study the incoming radiation of earth.

ISRO will work on how an earthquake happens on the moon’s surface and examine the soil of the moon. The spacecraft will attempt soft landing near the South pole of the moon from a circular orbit of about 100 km from the surface of the moon.

The Indian Space Agency successfully launched the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh on 14 July, 2023.
