Chandrayaan 3, India’s third lunar mission, is successfully launched  at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on Friday afternoon. Chandrayaan-3 will have a journey that take over a month to land on the Lunar surface. If successful, the mission will make India the fourth nation to achieve a controlled landing on the moon, after United States, Russia and China.

The journey from Earth to the Moon for the spacecraft is estimated to take about a month and the landing is expected on August 23. Upon landing, it will operate for one lunar day, which is approximately 14 days, which is equal to 14 days on Earth.

 

At approximately 16.57 P.M. after the LVM-3 lifted off from the launch pad, the Satellite separation took place , the integrated module was placed  in an Elliptic Parking Orbit (EPO) of size ~ 170*36500 km.
