After Haryana Conflict, Bulldozer Action Demolishes 250 Shacks

Bulldozer Action by Haryana Government:

The Haryana government destroyed immigrant shanties last night for infringing on government property in Tauru, which is around 20 km from Nuh, which has been plagued by violence. However, because both the district administration and the Chief Minister had earlier claimed that immigrants were involved in the altercations, the bulldozer maneuver is also being regarded as a response to supposed rioters. According to sources, Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, ordered the demolition.

According to reports, “illegal” immigrants from Bangladesh who had previously resided in Assam allegedly built shanties on property owned by the Haryana Urban Authority in Tauru town’s Ward 1 along Mohammadpur Road. Tauru is a town in the Nuh district. Over 250 shanties were constructed on just over an acre of ground, and people have supposedly been living there for the previous four years.

In preparation for riots, there was a significant police and paramilitary presence during the bulldozer operation. There were also officers from other government agencies there.

Authorities claim that “outsiders,” including alleged infiltrators, were responsible for the attack on the VHP march.

The Chief Minister had stated that Haryana would follow Yogi Adityanath’s lead in Uttar Pradesh and use bulldozers to clear the way for development.

Additionally, late on Wednesday night in Tauru, there was an effort to vandalize two mosques.

This week, Gurugram’s mosques won’t be holding Friday prayers (jumma namaz). Muslims have been urged to pray from their houses by religious leaders.

Varun Singla, the Nuh district’s chief of police, was transferred to another district yesterday and replaced by IPS officer Narendra Bijarniya, who had previously served as the district’s chief of police from February 2020 to October 2021 while on pre-approved leave.

Six people have killed in the confrontations that started in Nuh over an attempt to halt a Vishva Hindu Parishad march and expanded to Gurugram over the previous several days, including two home guards and a priest. Unruly mobs burned down a number of automobiles, eateries, and businesses.

Over 90 people have already been held throughout the state, while 176 have been arrested. A total of 41 instances were reported.

In order to allow residents to purchase necessities, mobile internet and SMS services, which had been suspended in the Nuh district since Monday at 4 p.m., will be available once more today from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., according to officials.

For inflammatory social media remarks, the police have made seven First Information Reports, or FIRs. They claimed to have looked at 2,300 videos. Police reported that they had located three accounts that had published provocative material on the day of the confrontations.
