‘Missing’ Foreign Minister Qin Gang replaced by Wang Yi

By the state media reports, China’s foreign minister Qin Gang removed from his position on Tuesday.
He was a rising star of Chinese politics. He hasn’t been seen for a month in public which initiates rumors of scandal and political friction.

According to China’s Global Times news portal, the top legislature of the country set a session on Tuesday where they decided to remove foreign minister Qin Gang.

Wang Yi who is the predecessor of Qin Gang is replaced by his position as foreign minister.
Qin Gang took his position in December 2022 and has not been seen in public since June 25 after meeting with visiting officials of Sri Lanka, Russia and Vietnam in Beijing.

His ministry added that he was off work due to unspecified health reasons. His absence gives a reason for the discussion in Politics and International level.

Wang Yi is appointed as foreign minister because this position plays a very important role in shaping and managing China’s foreign policy and relation with other nations.
