Coronavirus cases rise globally reported by WHO  

The World Health Organisation (WHO) gave the information about the increasing cases of coronavirus across the world nowadays. Around 80% of new cases of coronavirus have increased worldwide. During the weekly update of WHO, 1.5 million new corona cases were reported between July 10 to August 6 which is 80% more than the last 28 days.

WHO warned that the cases of corona might be higher than the previous one because at that time of corona the testing was done in all the countries but now it is not the same. Less testing will be done during these new corona cases which resulted in less records of corona cases in this time.

Corona cases increase in Western Pacific and Northern Hemisphere

According to the WHO report, countries in the Western Pacific region including Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan and New Zealand there have been 137% cases of coronavirus seems to have increased. While the countries of the Northern Hemisphere included America, Britain, France and Japan.

The cases have been increased due to heat waves. The new variant of omicron also discovered, WHO said and the cases are increasing because of less precautions taken by the people across the world.

Omicron’s sub variant Eris

On Wednesday WHO reported that the sub variant of omicron is called EG.5 or Eris. 17% cases found in the mid-july were of this variant. On 31 July in the United Kingdom, one case of this variant was found while most cases were found in America, China and Britain.

Maharashtra reported one case of Eris variant

One case of Eris was found in Maharashtra a few days ago. According to the data of the state health department, 115 cases of this variant were recorded in August 6 and coronavirus cases increased more rapidly this week as compared to the last week, UKHSA said.
