According to Central Water Commmission , Yamuna Water level stabilized in Delhi and dropped at 208.30 meters today .Areas in ITO and Rajghat are still submerged as a regulator of the Delhi Irrigation and Flood Control Department suffered damage near Indraprastha, exacerbating the already dire situation.
In the middle of the swamp, the city staring at a drinking water shortage as the government agrees to cut down the water supply by 25% following the closure of their three water treatment plants- Waziabad, Chandrawal and Okhla – due to an increase water level of Yamuna. Due to the increasing water level of the river, the Delhi Metro has temporarily closed Yamuna Bank Station and reduced the speed of the train on four Yamuna bridges.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the closure of the school, colleges and crematoriums near the river. CM Arvind Kejriwal also said that the private establishments across the city have been advised to allow their staffers to work from home.
A total of 16 NDRF teams have been deployed in Delhi to tackle the floods caused by the overflowing and the situation is expected to improve by Friday. According to the senior NDRF officer, a total of six districts in Delhi have been affected by the floods
